Vantiva is committed to environmentally responsible business practices and consistent, universally applied standards. As a global leader in the entertainment and media industries, with a large range of services and products, we not only meet the requirements of each country where we are located, but also encourage programs that go beyond local regulatory requirements.

The Vantiva Corporate Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Charter formalizes our approach and provides a framework to manage and foresee environmental risks.

At 49 sites worldwide, we track a wide range of environmental data, including waste management, energy and water consumption, air emissions, main materials used, and process wastewater effluents.

Circular Economy Strategy and Goals

Circular economy is integrated into our business strategy along three main axes: management and recycling of waste; reduction of products’ environmental footprint; and sustainable water management.

Our goals and objectives to be met by worldwide operations by the end of 2022:

  • 75% minimum waste recycling rate;
  • reporting to satisfy GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards (GRI Standards).

In its Annual Report and in its Sustainability Report, the Group presents an overview of the activities that Vantiva is taking to fulfill its responsibilities as a global corporate citizen with respect to Circular Economy.

Waste Generation and Recycling

We are long committed to the principles of sound and environmentally responsible waste management. With an established hierarchy of internal re-use, recycling and reclaiming, followed by treatment and then landfill as the last option, Vantiva has programs to increase recycling and reduce waste generation, hazardous waste, and waste sent to landfills.

Hazardous waste is defined at each site using guidance from local governing agencies, and is handled, stored, and disposed in compliance with local regulation and Group Policy.

The Group is also working for better end-of-life handling of electrical equipment waste and fully complies with the European Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive, or similar legislation in regions other than EU Member States.

Environmental Footprint of Products

Vantiva began to incorporate eco-design principles and methodology into our product families in 2008. The impact of innovations is measured through rigorous analysis of product environmental performance.

To reduce the ecological impact of customer activities, Vantiva supports them with product life cycle assessments that address everything from core product design to related elements to reduce single-use plastics and packaging and to decrease carbon emissions due to transportation.

We also look forward to collaborating with our customers in their ambitions to reduce their carbon footprint and evolve towards carbon-neutral activities.

Sustainable Water Management and Highlights

While Vantiva is not a water intensive business, efforts to save water are made wherever possible, at both industrial and non-industrial sites, and especially in water stressed areas. In non-industrial sites, initiatives have included replacing bottled water with CO2 water dispensers, adding aerators in taps, and/or setting dishwashers to eco-wash cycles.

Where raw water is developed on-site from local wells, all consumption and pre-treatment is in accordance with granted permissions and approved processes. Locations experiencing periodic water shortages invest in rainwater harvesting, while other manufacturing locations may invest in process water recycling.

From water-conscious planting of drought resistant species in California, to re-use of condensate water from air conditioning systems to irrigate an organic garden at Manaus, Brazil – campaigns are in place to remind all staff to conserve water.
