October 18th, 2022–VANTIVA (formerly known as Technicolor) will demonstrate the world’s first carrier grade Wi-Fi 7 home gateway during Network X/ Broadband World Forum (BBWF) 2022. VANTIVA’s Wi-Fi 7 gateway demo shows the power of this new wireless technology by extending the operating bandwidth range to 320Mhz and featuring 4096 quadrature amplitude modulation or 4K QAM which together rivals speeds offered by ethernet cables. It represents a step change in in-home wireless broadband connectivity that will enable a wide array of new experiences — such as the metaverse, immersive gaming and streaming of 4K and 8K video.

As demand for these next-generation services surges, network service providers (NSPs) will be under increasing pressure to deliver customer premises equipment (CPE) capable of delivering ultra-high bandwidth and low latency to — and within — the home.

“The industry has been talking about the possibilities of Wi-Fi 7 for some time now. VANTIVA’s Wi-Fi 7 gateway is among the first CPE manufacturers to make the transition from the theoretical to the tangible,” said Ashwani Saigal, Vice President for the Broadband Product Unit, VANTIVA.

“VANTIVA’s demonstration at BBWF 2022 will showcase a fully integrated solution  that will bring Wi-Fi 7 to homes around the world, including: the integration of housing, mechanical design, antenna design and placement, components, software, and thermal mitigation in a carrier-grade device that is needed for next-generation services and applications in the home,” he added.

The gateway provides all the advantages of Wi-Fi 7, featuring multi-link operation (MLO) which enables client devices to connect to 2.5, 5 and 6Ghz radios simultaneously. This capability creates multiple links on different bands to simultaneously transmit data packets to improve latency and data throughput. MLO also allows the gateway to provide connectivity without interruption in areas with high interference and congestion.

VANTIVA’s Wi-Fi 7 gateway takes full advantage of the spectrum made available by the emerging standard, elevating the efficiency of channel utilization by avoiding channels with interference to maximize bandwidth.

VANTIVA experts and executives will be on to hand to discuss and explain the key features included in this next-generation gateway. To see the demo of VANTIVA’s Wi-Fi 7 gateway visit Hall 8, Booth4 (8.B4) at RAI, Amsterdam, during Network X featuring Broadband World Forum.
